How To Care For Your Slime
-
Wash Your Hands!
Always wash and dry your hands before you begin playing with your slime on a clean surface (we recommend a clean table or bench top).
Oil and dirt from your hands can get on your slime and ruin its clarity. -
Reactivate As Needed
Reactivate your slime when your slime starts to get too sticky for your liking. Don't wait until it melts back into glue as it's hard to revive completely melted slime.
Remember to add activator only in drops, knead it through, then repeat. You don't want to add too much and overactivate your slime! -
Store In A Cool Place
Store your slime in its airtight container, in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Heat (from the sun or environmental temperature) melts slime.
Slime is a liquid substance that will lose moisture over time, but when properly cared for, slime can last you a few months.
All About Activator
-
What Is Activator?
Activator is a very diluted borax & water solution that is used to make slime less sticky. It is also the magic ingredient that turns glue into slime!
Borax is an ingredient found in contact lens solution (which can be a handy activator substitute too) and should not be ingested. -
How To Make Activator
Making your own activator is easy - mix 1 cup warm water with 1/2 teaspoon of borax powder (given in a little sachet from us, or you can buy it from your local supermarket) and stir until fully dissolved.
Store it in a marked, clear glass container. Activator crystallises a little if the environment is too cold, just warm it up in a microwave and mix until the crystals are dissolved. -
How Long Does Activator Last?
Activator strength weakens over time but it should last you a couple of weeks before you should make a fresh mixture.
